Bee Swarm Control

These are invaluable and versatile pieces of equipment. These are designed to be simple and light weight so they are easy to carry and transport all the beekeeping tools and paraphernalia that may be needed in the apiary. The removable nylon strap with cam buckle is adjustable so it can be used as a handle or shoulder strap or to secure a swarm of bees inside. There is a hive entrance complete with rotating entrance block and a stainless steel mesh floor so the tool box can be used to temporarily house a swarm or nucleus colony. The lid is hinged and can also be secured. Inside the box it is top bee space, wide enough for 6 National Hoffman frames, deep enough for National Extra Deep 14x12 frames. Outside the box there are trays for storing tools on all 4 sides. Tools shown are not included. All woodwork is knot free untreated solid 12mm timber.

This swarm catching bag is designed so it can be use on a long pole (not included) so swarms can be collected from high tree branches. 16 inches diameter with a 24 inch soft cotton drill bag. Drawstring and eyelets around the top allow the bag to be gently closed around the swarm. The bottom of the bag can be tied closed and easily untied with the ribbon attached.

1 Litre Bee Hive Trigger Spray Bottle. 30 cm tall and 10 cm diameter, this is a convenient size for use in the apiary. For example, use with water or a very dilute (less than 10%) sugar syrup to: encourage bees to stay on the combs during inspections keep the bees clustered when collecting a swarm slow down a quick running queen making catching easier unite colonies by lightly spraying all bees These have lots of uses but they are a not a substitute for a smoker.

National Snelgrove Board Many uses besides the swarm control techniques associated with Snelgroves methods detailed in his book, Swarming Control and Prevention. Strong 10mm board with central panel meshed on both sides of the board. 6 hinged entrance doors, 1 above and below the board on 3 sides.

These are designed to be used as part of the Queen Rearing System
These are used to protect naturally built wild queen cells. When cut from the comb the cells are inserted into the protector and the cap replaced so only the tip of the queen cell is exposed.
This can also be used with the Queen Rearing Cages and the Queen Rearing Support Blocks
