Nucleus Colonies, Queens

Nucleus colonies of honey bees are only supplied for orders with payment made in advance of the start of the breeding season in April so order before then to avoid disappointment.

These nucleus colonies will be available (dependent on weather) late May/early June.

A package is approx. 3lb or 1.3kg of worker bees (about the same quantity as supplied in a nucleus colony) together with a caged queen bee and 1lt of syrup feed.

These caged queen bees for sale are bred from our own stocks, reared and mated in the U.K.

Colony inspections with a professional beekeeper. This course is for those that are novices or, minimally, those that have previously attended our Beekeeping Course, Beginners Practical. This will include practical demonstration of inspecting honey bee colonies as well as plenty of opportunity to ask questions and seek advice from a professional beekeeper and bee farmer. Aimed at those who want to increase their hands-on beekeeping experience.

An introduction to aspects of swarm control with a professional beekeeper. This will include a practical demonstration of inspecting honey bee colonies for the purposes of swarm control as well a practical demonstration of basic swarm control techniques.
